Highlights from our Sessions.

Our counseling journey formally commenced in November, beginning with the Foundation of Marriage class facilitated by Pastor David Adekoye and Pastor (Mrs.) Adekoye, our youth pastors in our home church. We were taught the basic things we already had an idea of at the time. The dos and don'ts of our courtship period were reiterated. I just know everything we were told to steer clear of was to teach us discipline and every restraint was to teach us wisdom. This foundational teaching gave us a clear biblical understanding of marriage as ordained by God.
In addition, I had a personal counseling session with Pastor David Adekoye, during which I received valuable guidance and pastoral counsel on key aspects of personal, ministerial, and marital responsibility. I recall how that session provided clarity and direction in many areas in that season.

On average, we held one to two counseling sessions per month. There were times we missed a few scheduled sessions due to certain unavoidable engagements and a busy itinerary on our part. Despite this, we remained intentional about continuing the process and ensuring we stayed aligned with the program.

In January 2026, we had the privilege of attending sessions facilitated by Mr. & Mrs. Olu-Akinremi, as well as Pastor & Pastor (Mrs.) Olowe. These sessions addressed critical aspects of marriage, including marital fulfillment and expectations in the early stages of marriage.

We also held our session with Daddy and Mummy. Akinlade, we had the unique opportunity to cover three important areas in that session, which are possible challenges in marriage & conflict resolution, intertribal marriage & bride price, and family altar & raising godly children. I had a personal time out with Mummy. Babe and I had one more time-out with Mummy. Mummy is our choir director, and we're both in the choir department in church, so we hung out with Mummy a good number of times. Although intensive, our session with Daddy and Mummy Akinlade was immensely enriching, and we were greatly blessed with practical wisdom and spiritual insight.

In addition to the church-organized sessions, we received good counsel from our trusted mentors and parental figures outside our local assembly in our family and within our God-ordained kingdom ecosystem of dearly beloved and highly trusted friends and mentors.
We had impactful sessions with:
Uncle Dan Ekoko and Mrs. Funmi Ekoko, our uncle and aunt (Pastors in the Redeemed Christian Church of God, VGC.)
Rev. Yinka Adebiyi and Mummy Adebiyi, The Lead Pastors over Foursquare Grand Assembly, Maryland
Engr. Owolabi, a father figure to Iyanuoluwa from her formative years in her former church, Foursquare Baruwa.
Pastors Wole and Oghosa Emmanuel, pastors in Flourish Life Assembly and my mentors whom I served under many years ago.
Pastors Joshua and Laura Banjo, The Lead Pastors of RCCG LSC The Bridge Yaba Area, and our good friends.
Minister Yinka & Sunmisola-Agbebi Okeleye.

These sessions provided additional perspective, wisdom, and practical counsel for marriage, We scheduled for some more, but we know the chance will still come to interact with many other blessed couples around us whom we love and respect

We had our final session with our Parents in the Faith, Reverend Dr. Tunji and Pastor Mrs. Abegunde, where we shared our plans and addressed every topic again and finalized plans for our wedding.

Conclusion
We sincerely appreciate the spiritual investment, time, and commitment of our pastors and counselors throughout this journey. Each session has contributed significantly to shaping our understanding, strengthening our bond, and preparing us for a godly and purposeful marriage.
We remain committed to upholding the values, teachings, and principles we have received, and by God’s grace, we look forward to building a Christ-centered home that reflects His glory.
Thank you for your continued prayers, guidance, and support.
Yours faithfully,
Seundede and Iyanu.
