WMM Mid Year Conference 2025
Seun Dede's welcome note [IKLLC 2.0]
Hello and welcome, everyone.
This is the second edition of the International Kingdom Leading Lights Conference.
I'll be quick to share with you how we got here. I'm forever grateful to God for our very first worshipers conference. God used the Covid lockdown to inspire us to host our very first conference, The Worshippers Word Conference [TWWC 1.0]. It featured teachers of the word and ran for a stretch period of 9 days at the start of the year. Next year is TWWC 7.0, and the theme is dealings of the spirit. I look forward to a beautiful time.
On a personal note, family, please follow me. At the end of the second quarter of the year 2024, I visited my spiritual father, Reverend Dr. Tunji Abegunde, who prayed for me, thanking God for the grace bestowed upon me for my labor in the faith. A burden was on my heart to gather fellow passionate believers during the midyear for a conference like TWWC, except with more technical knowledge to thrive for greater works in ministry as they review the first half and project into the second half of the year. The name of our midyear conference came from a profound prayer by Reverend that God will make me a kingdom-leading light. And the idea was lit up at this moment in time, and it has pleased the Lord that this expression is set up to bless our global audience. We had an amazing time last year, featuring Pastor Bolu Onipede of Foursquare Gospel Church, Honorable Ayanfe Dideoluwa of the Redeemed Christian Church and Pastor Jerry, and we ended the conference with a live recording session at the grand finale where many tracks from last years album THIS WORSHIPPERS JOURNEY was recorded.
The theme of this years edition of the conference is A PRUNING WORK, taken from John 15, verse 2.
"He cuts off every branch of mine that doesn’t produce fruit, and he PRUNES the branches that do bear fruit so they will produce even more."
The message of emphasis in this season is that God is doing a work of pruning on his vessels who have been yielding to his instructions and growing productively in the faith. Pruning basically means cutting away or trimming dead or overgrown branches or stems. This process sounds uncomfortable but is necessary for growth. It may also mean the removal of superfluous or unwanted parts to reduce the extent of something. We must be open to letting God prune us his children, and detach whatever he sees fit for us to grow. This process comes in Life lessons sometimes, and at other times, it comes as life experiences, but either way, we must learn a lesson so that we can be more and do greater things for the Kingdom of God.
I asked a few of my friends and folks in the international community what God has been teaching them this season just to confirm what had been resonating in my heart. Let's look at what they had to say and learn one or two things
"Hi Minister Seun, So God has been teaching me, through the book of Deuteronomy, especially chapter 8, that God puts us in situations to make us humble and as a way of disciplining us
"Hello Minister Seun, So lately, God has been teaching me to trust him and not to lean on my understanding. A lot has been happening, but I thank him for the grace to stay in the place of prayer." - Minister T (US/Zimbabwe)
"Two major emphases, sir: building solid and eliminating distractions." - Minister Laurat (Nigeria)
"Hi Minister Seun, There are a number of things, but I'll just share a bit. The work of the church and the fivefold is to equip the saints for the work of the ministry. This work of ministry is then meant to happen outside.
Secondly, God strongly impressed this on me: NEW WINE SKINS. He's pouring the spirit in greater measure this season, and we will see signs and wonders and miracles and greater operations of the spirit of God through us. So he's saying WE HAVE TO GET RID OF THE OLD WINE SKIN. God says he's looking for people willing to go back to the scratch. willing to die again. Many people are building many things based on the old wine, but people need to let God break them and do the new thing that he has in mind because with the old wine they may not be carriers of the new. Be crushed again; it's a sacrifice. Something has to die, Seun, so that we don't lose relevance and just keep doing these social gatherings. People need to be careful so that they won't be left behind." —Minister R (Australia)
Thank you, Lord, for these confirmations. There are many more responses, but I just thought to share these ones so you can see the resonance with what God laid on my heart.
I'll stop here for the welcome speech, but I hope you have a nice time with us during the conference. It's a hybrid conference week. The first four days are virtual, and the last day is physical, and all the necessary information can be gotten from our fliers. Support us to publicize our conference along with the link to this landing page where the full details of this conference can be found.
